Apologies for the repetitiveness of my bouquets — I didn’t have time to tend the flower field as much this summer as I did in the past, so most of my cutting material is coming from the few raised beds I gave over to flowers in the veg patch. Those plants have been blooming exuberantly, which has been great news for keeping my vase filled, but it’s mostly been the same several plants. That said, it’s always a bit of a triumph when I get to the point where I can build a really full-looking bunch that rivals anything I’d get from a florist.
- ‘Café au Lait Royal’ (the big pink streaked dahlia), which actually is doing a pretty good job of playing filler in this bunch
- ‘Diana’s Memory’ (the smaller blush waterlily dahlias), still adoring that graceful shape
- ‘Fascination’ (the fuchsia dahlias at the bottom), which are cute but I don’t understand why they’re called “peony” dahlias?
- Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’, reigning champ of airy poufs
- A few spikes of gladiolus (unnamed from a bag of mixed bulbs), including that orange one from last week which has aged to a lovely salmon
- Some yarrow, which has now fully reverted to white from the original berry-colored mixture of years past and will require a reseeding
Sharing an indoor as well as outdoor shot this week, because the difference in lighting is kind of interesting.

When you have a mix of flowers that pretty, it’s worth repeating!
I only have a couple of containers so I understand. I have lots of repeats in my vases but they always seem different. Loving your combo.
